For a villa in Murcia or southern Alicante, a 3–5 kWp system typically costs around €4,000–€7,000 installed and legalised. Larger homes with pools and air-conditioning usually sit between €7,000 and €12,000.

Adding a battery increases the price depending on capacity; most villas need 5–10 kWh.

What changes the price

Roof type (flat azotea or tiled), the distance from the roof to the consumer unit, the inverter chosen, whether you want a battery, and how much paperwork is involved all affect the final figure.

A proper quote should be based on your actual bills and a site visit, not just the size of the house.

Is solar worth it in Spain?

Southern Spain gets more than 300 days of sunshine a year, which is why systems here produce much more than the same panels in northern Europe. Homes that use power during the day — pools, aircon, working from home — see the best savings.

Exported surplus can be credited against your bill through compensación de excedentes, and some councils offer IBI discounts, both of which shorten the payback period.

How to compare quotes

Check the panel and inverter brands, whether legalisation is included, who carries out the installation, and the length of both the product and workmanship warranties. A cheap quote that leaves out legalisation often ends up costing more.
