What aerotermia is
Aerotermia is an air-source heat pump. It moves heat from the outside air into your home or hot-water tank, typically delivering several units of heat for every unit of electricity it uses. In summer the same system can cool.
Compared with gas and gasoil
Gas bottles and gasoil boilers need deliveries, storage and servicing, and prices move with fuel markets. A heat pump runs on electricity — and if you have solar panels, much of that electricity is your own.
Compared with electric radiators
Electric radiators and immersion heaters turn one unit of electricity into one unit of heat. A heat pump produces far more heat from the same electricity, so running costs are much lower.
Why the climate here suits heat pumps
Mild winters on the Costa Cálida and in southern Alicante mean heat pumps work at high efficiency for most of the year. Inland towns with colder nights benefit even more because heating matters there.
